The Shoals of Capricorn
Ommanney, F.D.: 1954 London, bound with dustwrap 280 pages with photographs. Between the Seychelles, just south of the Equator, and Mautitius, is a vast erea of shoals water, where the bottom in places comes within sight of the surface. The Colonial Office wanted to know the thruth about the much-vaunted possibilities of commercial fishing there and sent Dr. Ommanney and a fellow scientist to ascertain. Here is told what happened in their two year's sailing in a 45 ton drifter. Very readable, with photograps.
