Telex Iran

Peress, G.: 1997, Scalo Zürich, hardcover, 104 pp., illustrated with photographs. This groundbreaking photographic document captures the raw tension and political upheaval during the five-week peak of the Iranian Revolution. The text alongside the imagery integrates original telex communications sent by the Magnum photojournalist to showcase the fragmentation and cultural gap surrounding the American Embassy hostage crisis. Instead of presenting a linear political analysis, these striking black-and-white visuals record a highly personal and seismographic journey through chaotic city streets and remote rural landscapes.
