The Memoirs of Count Bernstorff
Bernstorff, C: 1936 UK, hardcover 323 pages, with photo's. Bernstorff came from an old diplomatic family and trained as a Guards officer before entering Germany's diplomatic corps in 1889. He served in Constantinople where he rose to Ambassador in 1917. In between times he served in Washington in 1908 - 1916, an excellent account of the goings-on at German High Command level prior and during WW1. He also served post WW1 at the League of Nations.
